The scholars

The Brent C. Warnecke Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to Shelby County students through the Blue River Foundation. The graduating senior must plan to attend a 4 year college or university in the state of Indiana and be a multiple sport athlete, earning at minimum 1 varsity letter. These are the recipients, year by year.

2026

Elias (Eli) Sego

Eli Sego graduated from Triton Central in 2026, where he competed in both basketball and baseball. On the court, he wore #23 as a point guard and shooting guard for the Triton Central Varsity Basketball team. On the diamond, he played shortstop and center field, wearing #2 for Triton Central Varsity Baseball.

2025

Samuel Collier

Samuel Collier graduated from Triton Central in 2025, where he was a standout on the gridiron. He wore #5 as a quarterback for the Triton Central Varsity Football team.

2024

Henry Smith

Henry Smith graduated from Triton Central in 2024, competing in both baseball and football. Behind the plate and in the outfield, he wore #00 for the Triton Central Varsity Baseball team. On the football field, he lined up at guard and nose guard, wearing #56 for Triton Central Varsity Football.
